I love repeat clients. I love to see the children again, get to know them, watch them grow. Of course, if the previous session was only a week or two before, the growing is somewhat harder to perceive! I did a cousins session the other day for two families that I had first done individual shoots for one and two weeks before. Scroll down in the blog and you'll recognize the faces! Three just about three month olds and one brave six year old (plus an obliging dog) made for quite an exciting bunch!

busy neighborhood!
This weekend I photographed three young families in one neighborhood. It was my third time for the first family, who have a new baby this summer, and the first for the other neighbors. All in all, a delightful street full of kids!
First off, the new baby brother:
And the peek-a-boo big brother:
Then down the street for this cute little guy:
And finally, across the street for some girls this time!

a little something different
I interrupt the parade of beautiful babies and tots to present my kid brother and his lovely fiancée.
and one more that I just couldn't resist. This little guy was romping on the beach, but when we started to leave, we noticed him absolutely passed out on the sand. Cuteness personified.

growing family
One thing I love about photographing families is watching the families grow from year to year. I first photographed this family when the little guy was just a few weeks old, and this time, two and a half years later, he was joined by his new little sister.

vive les vacances!
What vacation to les Etats-Unis is complete without a family photo shoot? These family friends are visiting from France, and have been seeing all sides of this country, from a ranch in Montana to the shore of lake Superior, and we snuck in a photo shoot yesterday before they traveled on to New York this morning. Beaux garçons, non?

grandpa's garden
Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of capturing some images of two very cute and energetic little boys in their grandpa's garden. I was forewarned that they weren't huge fans of being photographed, but I must say, the camera sure loved them!
morning on the river
Yesterday morning we explored the shady morning spots at my favorite riverside park. This is my third summer in a row with these kids, and I'm hardly going to be able to call them kids much longer, they're growing up *poof* right before my eyes!

a walk in the park
This morning, bright and early, I met up with this adorable pair and we examined each and every rock in the Lyndale Park Peace rock garden, and took a few pictures as well!

another lovely afternoon at the beach
This afternoon I was joined down by the river by a family with three busy boys. I think they had a good time climbing around, and I certainly enjoyed capturing some images of these handsome fellows.
dance!
The lovely girls below were joined by their little cousins, which really livened things up! It was part photo session, part dance party with these two!
my favorite location ever!
Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing these lovely girls and their adorable cousins, down at the Boom site in Stillwater, just about a mile from my parents' house, and easily my favorite photo shooting location ever. Kids get to run around there, play in the sand, climb on rocks, and the light is just magical. So here are a few sneak peeks, and I'll get the cousins' peeks up next!
Now, the mom prefers black and white, which I generally do also, so am happy to oblige. I told her I'd show some in color if I just couldn't help myself, because, well, look below!

early birds
To capture this 3 month old in her sweetest mood, I arrived for the shoot at 7 this morning, and had a lovely time with the little babe and her charming and obliging big sister.
I LOVE her little tongue!
